De is a conceptual series of posters which began as an extension of my interest in De Stijl and the concept of 20th century art movements in general, how they are often heavily conceptual with aspects of philosophical thought than purely aesthetic. As a result, I had an idea for an art movement which follows after certain aspects of plasticism while departing from others, achieving simplicity with greater motion and a broader scope. The idea evolved heavily throughout its conception, and with each poster design, until it was no longer De and I no longer felt compelled to create them. A general theme remains across each design until the end, with stretched bands of contrasting or complementary colors overlaid by enigmatic and clearly wrought designs.
